Crashes happen all the time, we see, we do. But what if you’re a millionaire who has a million pounds worth of cars. A mark, dent or just a scratch is enough to promote some heavy violence, grief and even a bedtime cry.
I’ve searched the web for what I think not to be the worst, but the most heartbreaking of crashes. Not your usual Vauxhall Corsa hitting a lamp-post, or a 8 year old Ford Mondeo loosing a tail light. This is some bad-ass vehicles with some major damage.. goodbye life-savings. Enjoy..
Veyron on land.. Veyron in water – Tweet #DoesItFloat
Now lets start this off with probably the most infamous crash you’ve never seen. The guy recording this was travelling the I45 when he shot this video. He’s travelling about 45-50mph throughout the video, not Bugatti speeds. The $1.8 million Veyron looks tight and concelled but in a flash, it suddenly appears to veer off into a shallow salt water marsh lake, generating a huge splash while fish, sharks and crocs admire the Veyron’s carbon fibre body and seamlessly fill in the cockpit with lovely swamp water. This was 1 of 15 in America, only 200 Bugatti Veyrons 16.4 were ever produced, one’s in a lake. The driver claimed he was distracted by a low flying pelican or something, but I can’t see no pelican in the video.. #Alibi
If you can’t dodge it, ram it! – Tweet #RamIt
I don’t know where this was filmed, nor what country, but one thing for sure, that red Dodge Viper sounds incredible! The crash happens right at the end of the video, so might be best to fast forward a bit. The guy recording seems to be just an ordinary commuter who sees a rare Viper, whips out his phone and presses the red button. He follows the Viper from a couple hundred metres until they reach a tunnel. Now then, most drivers know from experience, that when exciting a tunnel the sunlight is normally incredibly bright, and for a brief second you’re blind. The Dodge was going pretty fast, but to be fair, you wouldn’t normally expect a traffic tailing right the exit of the tunnel..
Eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini and two Mercedes.. Ouch! – Tweet #GotInsuranceMate
An outing of luxury sports car enthusiasts in Japan ended in an expensive free way pileup – smashing up a stunning eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini and two Mercedes. Ouch.. Police say they believe the accident was touched off when the driver of one of the Ferraris tried to change lanes and hit the median barrier. He spun across the free way, and the other cars collided while trying to avoid hitting his car. This is possibly one of the most disturbing video a Ferrari lover can watch.. proceed with caution! As a group the temper scale is multiplied by 11! 11 super cars, 11 angry owners.
Lamborghini splits into two, can we share? – Tweet #TwoIsBetterThanOne
Only recently in Brooklyn, one of the most powerful road cars on the planet, was hit by a mid-sized Mazda, before splitting into two pieces and sent spinning down the road dangerously out of control. The $400,000 Aventador seems to be travelling well above the speed limit in my opinion when the Mazda turns into park it seems. But who’s to blame? The crash happened conveniently near some security cameras, which concludes two things; the world to witness & motoring enthusiasts to gasp. The safety cell of the Aventador, for its part, did what it was supposed to do and reduced the energy of the accident by separating itself from the rest of the car.
Nissan GT-R gets air! Then into a field.. – Tweet #2Fast2Fly
Now then, if you had 522bhp under a 2012 edition Nissan GT-R, I’m pretty sure you’d be doing exactly the same as this guy – overtaking every car in sight, no matter what the distance, weather and unexpected ramps? Well.. a 30ft long road height practically acts as a ramp for this guy, who was to b e fair, travelling a good 90mph. He takes off and for a slit second is airborne! If you’re airborne, I’m fairly sure your face will transform. From something life casual bad boy racer, to a terrified for your life driver who used to own a 4-wheel drive rocket! Moral of the story, know the road before you put your foot down.
Ferrari FXX spins out into lake – Tweet #HolyWater
This is a Ferrari Enzo with FXX upgrades. This is from the TARGA Newfoundland (Canada) 2011 race. Car gets caught on some loose gravel and loses control. Owner seems calm and grateful at every moment, Very humble man who is in it for the joy of the sport. Just like the Bugatti Veyron (top), the lake is becoming a popular choice to dump your ultra rare super cars. Ferrari only ever produced 20 FXX’s, costing at $2 million for one! Even though the driver seemed relaxed in the video, I bet he felt guilty ruining one the rarest track day cars on the planet..
That wasn’t in the script! Transformers fail.. – Tweet #TranformIntoACrash
Hollywood action movie directors like a car chase and crash or two – but they prefer them to be in the script. But while filming Transformers 3 , the cast and crew could only look on in horror as a real-life accident unfolded in front of them. A police car unaware of the filming raced through a Washington D.C. street and collided with a stunt car taking part in the middle of a scene. The large police SUV was en route to a call and had its sirens blazing when it was hit by a yellow Chevy Camaro known as Bumblebee in the hit films. The front of the Camaro ploughed into the passenger side of the police vehicle at great impact. Behind the scenes car style!
Palm Tree, Beverly Hills, Lamborghini Murcielago – Tweet #TreeHugger
Maybe you’ve seen it, maybe you’ve not, but we couldn’t pass the opportunity to show you some additional footage from the Lamborghini Murcielago mishap that occurred back in March of 2009 in good ol’ Beverly Hills. The owner of the original video reposted it after he found new footage of the accident, which to refresh your memory, involved the owner of the Murcielago losing control of the Italian supercar and smashing it into a palm tree on the median. Living in Beverly, driving a £270,038 Murciélago.. can’t be more than next months pay check until he orders a new one. But that colour! Looking pretty sweet on the Lamborghini.
Let’s race boys! – Tweet #BoyRacer
A group of racing Lamborghini’s sounds like heaven for most motoring enthusiasts. But on a busy highway, weaving in and out of traffic, something disastrous is the only outcome. In the video you’ll witness something upsetting for car fans, it starts of pretty cool, but almost immediately, more and more Lamborghini’s begin to appear at speed. Spinning out of control, the green Gallardo hits the barrier and comes to a stop after a shaken driver manages to control the vehicle. Scary times..
Showing off fail – Tweet #DidntExpectThat
Fancy drifting your Ford Mustang in the wet we suddenly, you loose control and end up smashing into a helpless Peugeot 107. What a great capture though, a big thanks to Russia for making it the Law to have a dash camera. The sheer size of the country, combined with lax — and often corrupt — law enforcement, and a legal system that rarely favours first-hand accounts of traffic collisions has made dash cams all but a requirement for motorists. All good for viewing the crashes we love to watch!
